world"s most expensive car wash costs $150,000

Ultimate Shine

More so than any other possession, cars arouse deep emotions in their owners. People LOVE their cars.
And while some may prefer to wash their cars themselves with a bucket and a hose, others with money to burn turn to The Ultimate Shine, a car cleaning company based in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.
The Ultimate Shine not only offers the most luxurious car cleaning experience, it also comes with an unbelievably hefty price tag of $150,000.
You’re probably wondering who in their right mind would pay that amount to get their car cleaned, but to the world’s rich and famous this is the average price they pay to keep their car looking presentable.
This company isn’t aimed at the average driver, or those with average cars. Owner Paul Wilkins, 34, says his services are meant for rich car collectors who are interested in keeping their rare and expensive vehicles in pristine condition.
The Ultimate ShineAlthough Wilkins would not reveal the identities of his high-profile clientele, he did mention that he cleans about three cars per year.
For the price I will fly out to any location in the world,” Wilkins says. “I’m usually dealing with serious car collectors who have temperature-controlled showrooms, so I travel to wherever they are kept.”
The process begins with Wilkins decontaminating the body and the wheels of the car, then he removes defects by machine polishing every inch of the body. Once that’s done, he will go over the bodywork with a special alcoholic cleaning agent to ensure there are no oily stains left on the paint.
And for the grand finale? The Ultimate Shine uses a special Carnauba wax gathered from a secret location in Brazil. This wax alone costs approximately $100,000 and is designed to protect a vehicle against any element.
